Went to Cornell Univ, where I majored in Russian Language and Literature; worked at the US Office of Education in DC for a year; moved to Palo Alto, CA where I worked for a psychiatrist at Stanford Medical School for a year. Decided to go to medical school; spent a couple of years doing pre-med requirements before getting into Stanford Medical School. Did my residency in Family Medicine in Philadelphia at Hahnemann Hospital. Returned to California to work in a farmworkers clinic in the San Joaquin Valley for 7 years, then spent a year as a "Kelly Doc", mostly working on the East Coast; spent 14 years working in the beautiful coastal town of Half Moon Bay CA. Met my now-wife in St. Petersburg, Russia; moved to Martinez, CA to be with her. Have worked for John Muir Health organization in an office with 12 primary care doctors in Concord, CA, since 2001. Have managed to visit Russia a couple of times, China once; did a tandem skydive last Spring. Go to Hawaii from time to time, to watch whales and the sunrise over Maui's Mt.Haleakala. Subscribe to the San Francisco Opera. Take pictures all the time, but rarely print them--I love digital cameras because it's so easy to take a zillion pictures. Luana and her son Ryan and I live in a house with our 4 cats and 2 dogs, with a nice view of the Carquinez Straits that go from Sacramento to the San Francisco Bay.
I mostly remember embarrassing moments. And being surrounded by a lot of smart and talented people.
